City & Guilds 7303 (C&G 7303) introduces candidates to delivering training and is ideal for trainers in commerce, industry, public and voluntary sectors or HM forces, who might not have had the opportunity to build up any teaching hours.
The City & Guilds 7303 Award is suitable for those who work, or want to work as:
- Teachers/Trainers/Tutors in the Lifelong Learning Sector and Adult/Community Education
- Trainers of personnel in commerce, industry, public and voluntary sectors or HM Forces
- Technicians and Support Staff in Further and Adult Education
- Part time teachers in further and adult education
Provided they are qualified in the subject they intend to teach by virtue of holding and appropriate professional qualification or employed in a training/teaching role. The decision as to what constitutes as appropriate qualification is at the discretion of the training provider.

A1 Assessors Award \ V1 Verifiers Award
Assessor/Verifier awards enable people to gain recognition for carrying out work-based assessment and/or internal verification of National Vocational Qualifications or other competence based qualifications. These qualifications must be being delivered and assessed in a real workplace.
Candidates undertaking these awards should aim for completion of each unit within six months, however, the time taken will depend on the candidate's job role and the progress of their learners.
Initial induction will be given for each of the three units followed by individual assessor support to build up a portfolio of evidence. The assessor will visit the workplace for the purpose of observing the candidate's competent performance. Candidates will be encouraged to create an action plan and set realistic targets for completion of each of the units being undertaken.
This course covers the new national standards. The three units covered are:
- A1 Assess Candidates using a Range of Methods [corresponds with combined Units D32, D33 and D36]
- A2 Assess Candidates' Performance through Observation [corresponds with D32]
- V1 Conduct internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process [corresponds with D34].
The old 'D-Units' have been replaced by 'A Units' for Assessors and 'V Units' for Verifiers.
Assessors and verifiers who already hold one or more 'D-Units' will not be required to obtain certification in the A and V Units. They will, though, be required to demonstrate continuing professional development in accordance with the requirements of the Independent Assessment Strategy agreed between the ENTO and Awarding Bodies.
Completion of these units will enhance an individual's employability as a work-based assessor and/or internal verifier.
